Cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potential in children with sensorineural hearing loss with and without cochlear implant: a systematic review

Abstract Background Children with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) form a major chunk of the population difficulty. Since auditory system is close to vestibular and shares common fluid, abnormality in might impair functioning system. Main body abstract The present systematic review aimed at studying application cervical ocular evoked myogenic potential responses (cVEMP oVEMP) during assessment rehabilitation children SNHL without cochlear implant. A search was done across databases on cVEMP oVEMP findings SNHL. Out 92 articles retrieved, 21 were found be appropriate as per our inclusion criteria. Significant seen shown test reports. abnormalities more using Pre- post-implantation studies showed significant reduction measures after implantation. Short conclusions Studies last decade reported abnormal response also associated poor motor development Thus, emphasis should given assessing rehabilitate them early life.
